If you have an hp 8610 printer DO NOT upgrade yet.

To save yourself frustration, don't upgrade to Win10 yet. Too many issues.

To upgrade to Windows 10:
http://msft.gq/gxn/

Quote
GXN is a small utility that helps you upgrade your current Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 Preview installation to Windows 10 RTM without any waiting or reservation.

This tool provides a few enhancements over the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft. As an example, GXN is able to identify and clean up temporary files from previous failed installation attempts, thus lowering the chance of setup not working significantly. GXN will continue receiving updates for the app itself and will always provide the most up-to-date copy of Windows 10 Microsoft offers.

These are the following prerequisites you need for GXN to work properly:

.NET Framework 4.5
Windows 7 or newer
An active internet connection
Administrator rights
Please report any bugs you've found using DMs on Twitter, @Whistler4Ever.

If you want to install Windows 10 on a computer that does not have an internet connection, use this:

The DVD playback app should be available for purchase in the Windows app store...

In windows 8 I couldn't add attachments to an email in the Outlook web app from Chrome. I was only able to if I was logged into the app in Explorer. With Windows 10 I can't even do it from the Microsoft browser.
Let me know if you know of a way to do it.

If you roll back from win 10 to win 7 does your hardware stay registered for win 10?

Note that you won’t be eligible for the free “Windows DVD Player” app offered to users of Windows Media Center if you perform a clean install.

I think so, yes.  I don't know.

Also, regarding the Windows DVD Player, see this:

I seem to remember reading that its nothing special.. at best

Brand new lenovo yoga 2 pro.
Having a lot of lag for touch response, video playback (stream), and keyboard... (this computer is i7 ssd, so supposed to be quick)
Haven't gone through entire thread yet, but I see others had same issues.
Rollback or is there a solution?

Problems I've had with Win 10:

1) every time I restart, the scroll orientation of my track pad is reversed (i.e., I have to swipe up to scroll down, a la macbooks).  This is probably a driver issue which I hope is fixed soon.

2) my computer no longer recognizes my external monitor, despite installing what I think is every possible driver combo. This may be a driver issue...

3) it caused my office to unlicense itself (but I just upgraded to office 2013 so not a huge deal)

One I figure out how to fix these issues and take my start menu, I'll probably be a fan.

Try restarting, once and again...

Try restarting.  Or try clean install.  According to Lenovo site all drivers are updated:

Trackpad issue:
http://www.tenforums.com/drivers-hardware/14189-synaptics-touchpad-reverse-scroll-reverts-restart.html

External monitor.  Try holding down Windows key and pressing P.  Also, try removing/updating device/driver from device manager.

Office unlicense: extremely strange.

Thanks for the trackpad fix. I'll try it at home later.

I've tried Win+P, but nothing doing. It's odd. Tried removing and adding half a dozen times with various drivers, no dice. I'm wondering if they'll release a new Win 10 driver that'll fix the issue.

Very.

Recent issue I've heard about over the last 24 hours.  People receive:
"*Critical Error* Start Menu and Cortana aren't working. We'll try to fix it the next time you sign in."

2 Solutions:
1) Restart in Safe Mode w/ Networking.  Then restart normally.  No need to do anything special in safe mode.
2) Uninstall/Re-install Avast (possibly repair as well).

how do you get into safe mode?

Press ctrl+alt+delete on your keyboard
Click on "TASK MANAGER"
On top left, click on "FILE"
Click on "RUN NEW TASK"
Check the box "Create this task with ..."
Type in MSCONFIG
Click OK
Click on BOOT
ON the bottom on the BOOT MENU, check "safe boot" and select "network"
Click "Apply" then "OK"
Restart your computer
When it is rebooted and you get on the safe mode desktop, press ctrl+alt+del again
type MSCONFIG again
In BOOT menu uncheck safe mode
Apply, OK and reboot
