If you have an hp 8610 printer DO NOT upgrade yet.

To save yourself frustration, don't upgrade to Win10 yet. Too many issues.

To upgrade to Windows 10:

Quote
GXN is a small utility that helps you upgrade your current Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 Preview installation to Windows 10 RTM without any waiting or reservation.

This tool provides a few enhancements over the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft. As an example, GXN is able to identify and clean up temporary files from previous failed installation attempts, thus lowering the chance of setup not working significantly. GXN will continue receiving updates for the app itself and will always provide the most up-to-date copy of Windows 10 Microsoft offers.

These are the following prerequisites you need for GXN to work properly:

.NET Framework 4.5
Windows 7 or newer
An active internet connection
Administrator rights
Please report any bugs you've found using DMs on Twitter, @Whistler4Ever.

If you want to install Windows 10 on a computer that does not have an internet connection, use this:

Yes, if you care.
Does it remove all spyware, or only prevents windows from spying?
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

No, not spyware removal.  Just disables all services/etc that MS uses to "collect" info.  Read the site :)

It doesn't cause any obstacles/ bugs on the way? I'd be worried that certain programs or features may be disabled.

Windows 10 collects a lot of personal data.
a lot compared to what?  The iPhone and any Android phone does the same thing. Almost all of the data it collects is not really personal.

"While the Windows 10 upgrade delivered as a recommended update will automatically begin the installation process, the user will be able to refuse the OS change at some point, probably early in the process. "Before the upgrade changes the OS of your device, you will be clearly prompted to choose whether or not to continue," Myerson said."

Still terrible because now people will turn off updates leaving their computer vulnerable to malware and exploits
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Why would you turn off updates? It just downloads it doesn't install. Regardless 99% of ppl dont know how to turn of updates and wont even know anything changed.

The installation WILL start without asking you. You can tell it to stop, but it's really annoying when something is installing and you're trying to get work done. Hopefully Microsoft will backtrack on this.
