If you have an hp 8610 printer DO NOT upgrade yet.

To save yourself frustration, don't upgrade to Win10 yet. Too many issues.

To upgrade to Windows 10:

Quote
GXN is a small utility that helps you upgrade your current Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 Preview installation to Windows 10 RTM without any waiting or reservation.

This tool provides a few enhancements over the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft. As an example, GXN is able to identify and clean up temporary files from previous failed installation attempts, thus lowering the chance of setup not working significantly. GXN will continue receiving updates for the app itself and will always provide the most up-to-date copy of Windows 10 Microsoft offers.

These are the following prerequisites you need for GXN to work properly:

.NET Framework 4.5
Windows 7 or newer
An active internet connection
Administrator rights
Please report any bugs you've found using DMs on Twitter, @Whistler4Ever.

If you want to install Windows 10 on a computer that does not have an internet connection, use this:

best way to do that if I got a preinstalled win 10?
If you have an old laptop that had Win 7, you can install Win 7 from scratch and use that license. It was a pain, though, IME.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

It worked great for a good few months, though, until we upgraded to 10. When that one crucial piece of software finally became compatible!

That laptop that I bought with Win 10, and needed 7, and you helped me install it. Remember, we had to install each and every driver manually?

Well once we got it set up, it worked great. Just about a month ago, we upgraded it to Win 10, because the software that used to not be compatible, became compatible.

Change icon size.

This helped, Thanks A Mill. I thought it's because it opens in Photos and not in Windows Photo Viewer.

Is there a way to tell windows a specific time that it should download updates? So I don't clog up my "high speed internet" when I'm using it?

Then you won't get any updates, after the anniversary update you can set times.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Don't think so.  You can try (dont think it will work):
Code: [Select]
Dism with  /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux /allReally doubt it though.  See more here:
