It does have to be a special sim.
Note this deal ends tomorrow, and im not sure if it will cause ur friend issues if he wants to use softcard with his phone later.

I have the same problem with my S4. Tried at multiple stores/multiple chains (McDonalds, Walgreens, Rite Aid), with and without my rubber case, same problem.

ETA: just saw the comment above about the battery. I just switched to a NOOT battery, I bet that is my problem.

Some phones (eg the galaxy s4) have the NFC antenna embedded in the battery. If you are using a 3rd party battery, make sure it supports NFC.
Also I just read, if your phone is rooted softcard wont work (there is a workaround).

Can someone give me a step by step here.
The cashier in walgreens doesn't know when and where to input that 9 digit code. Am i missing something?

Called Verizon - they have me two different answers. One says before i pay for my transaction, one says after i pay for my transaction.. So confused. Please help!!

Also - is there a minimum on the purchase?

I dont think there is any minimum
forget about that code you dont need it
if you try the coca-cola promo it also gives you a code but you cant give that to a machine

Rite aid disabled NFC, no Walgreen's here, DR on 13 closed a while back

I finally got my Softcard with Galaxy s5 to work at Walgreens. Seemed I had to just hold it over the pad for an extended period of time. Sometimes it took 15 seconds before it registered the phone. Do other people have such long delays or might there be something wrong with my phone?
