Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

Gonna go out on a limb and do a mitzvah on Hoshana Rabba...
1. Welcome too the forums.
1a. Read the Wiki first.
2. Any Visa or Mastercard Gift Cards with a PIN should work, Amex GC will NOT work.
3. Depending on which CC('s) you have, you should be buying them in different places and in either $200 or $500 denominatons.
4. Dont think anyone here will spoonfeed you much more.
Fair warning - Any PMs sent in response to forum posts are fair game for ridicule in public.

The vanilla visa and Mastercard have pins sold by cvs, the ones sold in staples and stop and shop also do. Vanilla is best cuz you make your own pin. Others assign a pin

Target sells a $400 Visa gift card for a $6 fee, would that work to load the RedCard? It would be more economical for a Amex threshold.

Just buy the variable load that they sell in supermarkets. It's only $4.95 fee, plus it's an extra $100 on the card, making it more economical than that.

Supermarket GC's are $5.95 (IME).

Just go to your local chain store and check the GC rack. Plenty of Visa or MC options.

Still a better value. Plus some cards have bonus categories for supermarkets that make these into money makers.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

For 5.95 why do I have to go to two stores if I can get a $400 GC at Target for $6?

BTW 'Mazel Tov' for your 100's HT :)

Some people use cards for the bonus category. Additionally, $100 can add up very quickly.

Correct it is $5.95. As you pointed out though, it's still a better value.
