Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

Are you referring to QP?
No, external transfer.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

You're right-I don't get it either.
And nobody has to read his "long rants" if they don't want to. It's not going to be included in the DDF final exam.

Why should chase be any different than serve or red card? They're all ACH. I've never had a problem getting bonuses with either.

Kindly direct me to correct thread for these bonuses , so I can decide I if it's worthwhile for me to do.

You don't need to do anything. You can have it all automated, dd and 2 bp. It's 240 every single year.

I suppose the temp card gives you another 500 of Ms
This. You can also load 1k before permanent card comes which can be helpful, depending how late in the month you order your card.

I just called to cancel my prepaid card, and when the rep asked why I was cancelling, I said it was due to the fact that the card no longer allows debit card reloads. I said he probably had a ton of cancellations over the past week or so. He told me that debit card loads are only being temporarily suspended until the new chip-enabled prepaid card is mailed out in early November, and then debit card reloads will resume. He said that originally the rollout was supposed to be October but it got postponed by a month.

Has anyone heard this? He seemed very confident that this was the case. I haven't heard this mentioned anywhere else, so I'm not sure if he was just making something up or misunderstood something.

Seems unlikely that gc loading will return due to the new language of third party cards.
On a very sad note, I broke out my winter coat for the first time since April and found this in my pocket.

It was Target's decision to cancel DC loads, not Amex. You can't rely on Amex's third world reps. Besides, the language of the memo says that they made it cash only to be in line with the policies of other merchants.

Not only that, but if they were planning to bring it back the memo would've said to tell customers it's only temporary instead of saying that they should call the CS number for complaints.

Thanks. That's what I figured, but I wanted to just double check because the rep seemed so insistent.

They tend to get that way, especially when they don't know what they are taking about. :)
