Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

I just called to cancel my prepaid card, and when the rep asked why I was cancelling, I said it was due to the fact that the card no longer allows debit card reloads. I said he probably had a ton of cancellations over the past week or so. He told me that debit card loads are only being temporarily suspended until the new chip-enabled prepaid card is mailed out in early November, and then debit card reloads will resume. He said that originally the rollout was supposed to be October but it got postponed by a month.

Has anyone heard this? He seemed very confident that this was the case. I haven't heard this mentioned anywhere else, so I'm not sure if he was just making something up or misunderstood something.

Is there a reason to cancel an not keep it open? Do you lose anything by keeping it open?
I'm not who you think I am.

You might as well use your SSN for Serve or BB

How are you in violation of a clause that says that they can close your account with or without cause? There isn't anything in that section about what isn't allowed...

It's dumb wording. They just mean they're exercising their right to shut you down. It's probably boilerplate text that you violated section X.

With the debit redcard you get, but you can only use it together with gift cards.
