Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

What is the time frame between activating the redcard at target and registering it online?  Will they allow a few months window to close other accounts (serve, bb)?

But then you have to spend even more time in target. Probably uses less time to drive to cvs for the pharmacy than to navigate target and deal with the mobs

We have to deal with the mob anyway to load our redcards...

Not sure that can be a thing. As long as you have people to register them under, why not have more. Just more free spending.

You need to activated it in the store first by scanning the bar codes on the packaging, and that's when you can load $500. After that you register online. Don't try to register online before activating in store, it will mess up the card. If they told you to register first, they don't know what they're talking about, and go to a different cashier.

It takes seconds to register a red card after activating, and takes seconds to close a bluebird or serve account.

I understand that but I would like to wait before I close my serve card because I have some credit issues. That's why I need to know how much time does one have from the time a redcard is activated until it is registered online.

I've never heard of a time limit.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

I purchased and loaded $500 today. I then registered the card. Does anyone have experience going back the same day of the initial purchase after registering and loading more? Dan loaded another $1000 the next day. Anyone experience additional loading same day as opening?
