Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

FT method works nicely. Cashier was shocked that it worked.

I'd been hesitant to try it because I don't like making a big fuss but I found the right cashier and did it for the first time last night.  Worked like a charm.  It's a great discovery.

Any recommendations about good time to go to Atlantic Terminal Target? Be there at opening?  Come at a random time that is not near (any of) opening, closing, or lunch?

yeah, read the wiki

I read it several times. Loading 2.5K per transaction was there for quite some time already. Also read about doing $2.5K + a small purchase. You guys sounded like there was an update to Wiki about FT method but I'm not sure what you are referring to.

Quick question about loading lots of $200 VGC with REDcard: (In Brooklyn)

What would be the best way to ask a cashier to let you load $2400 with $200 at a time?

I was thinking of asking to load $800 + $800 + $800 and paying $200 at a time.
Of course when it wasn't so busy at CS.

Anyone think of a better way?

I'd probably do $1k + $1k + $400, personally.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

When adding a bank account, is there any reason to do the non-instant verification (with 2 deposits) as opposed to giving them my login info?

I made a mistake calculating and accidentally tried to load an extra penny on to the card today and went over the max for the day.  Was loading with 2 different cards.  For the second load I did 1000 + 146.88 ( when is should have been 146.87) My receipt says $1146.88 but the last 146.87 never loaded.  Anyone have any experience with this?  Will the charge on my cc end up showing as 1000 or 1146.88.  If the latter, what happens to the 146.88 that never loaded?

Check your CC online and take it from there.

Yes I'm sure this is in the wiki and answered a million times but if someone could be so kind and just give me a very simple answer as I'm new to this - My wife and I currently have a Serve card, and live in NJ. Parents live in MD, and both have a Redcard with their socials and activated. They are coming up this weekend. Can they get or activate a Redcard for me and my wife in MD, and then bring it up to NJ this weekend? If yes, how do they go about doing it, and what do I do once I get it. The wiki was a little confusing to me and i just couldn't read 200 pages of this. Thanks in advance for the help.
