What you are referring to is the FT method. Its one charge of $2500 on your cc but three transactions at Target. Target limits transaction size to 1k hence the three transactions to reach $2500. You can try cashiers but they may direct you to CS. They may or may not know how to do the FT method. More likely than not they wont know as the card is not sold in NY and they are not trained on loading this card. But as always YMMV
I wouldn't even mind going 5 separate times for the 1K load. I just rather do it within 2 transactions. I'm not interested in building a relationship with target CS...
Is it risky by doing 3 Sep transactions on your credit card?
From what I'm reading, it shows up as a charge from target itself...
If you call your cc issuer, I don't see why their would be any FA
