Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

From experience, I would suggest Abingdon, MD (3 minutes off I-95 at exit 77B). Don't go to Aberdeen, MD.
Thanks.  Do you know if the Abingdon store has them in stock?

I haven't been there since Jan 2nd, but at that time there were plenty.

I have been registering activated cards for family and friends. Two of the five that I've done so far has triggered the need to send in additional information (DL and SS card). I've been following the thread but don't recall seeing if people have figured out what triggers that. I have a couple more that need to be regustered and looking for what to avoid when registering. Thanks!

I’d love an answer too, if anyone knows. I’ve been making a new Gmail and Google Voice number for each registered card and I’m still having that problem.

With all the hock and warnings about using VGCs at Target, does anyone else have a good way to unload many VGCs any other way?
U can't use vgc on red card?!

Especially in high DDF areas. That said, I was IDed last week and they let me pay with a vgc

I've been using all correct and accurate info for the friends and family registrations and still getting hit with a manual review occasionally.

What i found with my 5 cards were as follows:
My daughter with pristine credit and Amex cards galore - instant
My wife and I (1 card each) each with terrible history with Amex and no cards in our names - review required
My son with no credit history - review required
My FIL with great credit and AU on 2 Amex accounts - instant
Fair warning - Any PMs sent in response to forum posts are fair game for ridicule in public.

Marthas vineyard is probably just as far from a redcard as NY is!!! The MA redcards are sold in a cluster of Targets outside Worcester MA about 40 minutes before you get to Boston if youre coming from NY. So look there. The Vineyard is much further east.

Worth a trip to the Worcester area, just for one night at a Marriott (Mid week or weekend)?any other suggestions?

Sounds like the ones with Amex CCs got instant. Maybe because they already have the info.
ETA: I reread your post and it sounds like you previously had Amex CCs. Maybe it goes by credit score.
