Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

Thanx mc/Amex can do as debit? Or only credit?
MC - credit, or debit if you have a pin# (may have to call and set it). Amex - credit.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

Did you try as debit or credit? They will only work as credit.

Amex gift cards can sometimes take a few hours to activate. Check your balance online.

I didn't need to wait 24 hours and was able to open a RC right away.  I did have a problem with using the same email though and recommend you use a different one.  Other people may have had different experiences.  Just commenting on my experience.

I know that this has been spoken about before but going though this hole thread is alot of work   ::)

So i just got my first redbird card in the mail today and wanted to give it a shot tomorrow
should i go straight to CS?

Also will chase decline the transaction if i do the full $2500 at one shot due to a fraud alert?
if so how do i avoid it?

Now i don't want to get stuck with them telling me i can do it with a cc (does that happen?) if so what should i be telling them?

You can do it at a cashier
Call chase before to let them know you will make a big purchase in target
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Then what does the wiki mean when it says

"see note immediately below about doing up to 2.5K per transaction (or do 3 transactions: 1K, 1K, $500 - or any combination you desire.) "

How do i pull that off?

Check your local stores!!

I live in a non-participating state and one of the local Targets is carrying redbirds. The other ones are not.  I activated, registered, the who shebang.  The rollout must be moving forward stealthily.
my local Target (Nanuet) still hasn't received them, RC lives on.
Hey there! I am using DansDeals Forums.
