Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

Bought a temp card, can't register it of course.

So what do I do with this thing now?
Do I really want to give up on Softcard?

If you weren't sure you wanted to switch why did you buy it?

Not sure how long that'll last. (Both the "free" and the "smiling")

My personal opinion is yes. I'm working on getting one, and I'll definitely give up my Serve for this. I can always get the serve back once this implodes  ;)

Why can't you just switch one of your accounts over?
If one is advantageous over the other then why not go in all the way?

Hard to crunch without knowing if REDcard will work for SBS.

In the meantime I activated the card I bought for my mother.  Anyone know if she can do a load before the permanent card comes?

Very well might be.
My guess is that you won't know until SBS registration opens on 11/16.

I tried loading $500 before registering and it failed.
Seems from the comments that another $1,000 can be loaded until the permanent card comes. Guess I'll play with it.

You can. I  did two 500 loads.  You just need to register it first

I read somewhere (probably FM) that it doesn't work for amex sync offers. Does that make it less likely that it will work for SBS?

Anyone know if they plan on ever selling it in NY/NJ? Trying to decide if it's worth a trip or a hassle...
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.
