Topic Wiki

Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

I feel the end is near, need to start getting used to using GC's.
Just want to clarify my options.
Thanks BTW

So then your real question is "what methods of manufactured spending are there other than Red Card?" Funny post for the Red Card thread. I think you'll be ok with your BA and SP. Post when you meet your thresholds.

There are multiple threads discussing various forms of manufactured spending. Red Card came out a few months ago. People were MSing and posting about it for years before that on this forum.

Successful loads at 3 NYC-area Targets this morning. One, strangely enough, said no gift cards at all, only credit, debit, and cash.

GCs arent supposed to work. On the cashiers screen it specifically asks them if you are paying with a GC

MY  EXPERIENCE.
They indeed became more strict,  I use to go to target did the FT method with  no problems,  now I went and the system didn't aloud any more FT Method,  so I did 3 separate transactions and after I asked her if I can load my wife's card she wasn't so happy about it but I asked her if she can try Please,  she tried and went through,  then I had one more card to load I didn't want to ask the same cashier to load 3 cards so I went to other cashier to load I asked her can you please load 1k she Told me that I gotta go to CS,  I went there and she looked on my RC and my CC and asks me why the names are different I said my father asked me to load,  she did 1k and I asked to do an other 1k and DID NOT ask her to do $500 because she looked at this whole like something is going on over here.  I told her thanks you and left the store...  People please use more cation,  if you will ruin the system they will stop it.

I disagree, kind of.  It's only a matter of time if people continue to abuse the system.  If everyone will try to act in moderation it could continue.  PGFHGS
