Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

I'm confirming (intermittent) issues. Was able to load 1 card for 1K, but after kept getting "offline to processor, cannot sell card" after swiping RC and keying in $1K
which state?

MD update: called a couple stores, and they were told by Amex to remove all prepaid cards until the system is fixed,  they definitely plan on continuing with the program but don't want to have the cards out until the issues are fixed.

Best news yet. At least a RC selling state is having trouble too.

I'm not sure- I specifically asked about the prepaid redcard. And I've been experiencing technical difficulties with the system here in a redcard state since Monday- but like I said earlier in the thread, only with activating new cards, not with loading. I last loaded this morning with no issues.

Have a bit complicated question here!

I have a check  from Target RB made to my brother's name. He lives in a different state.  I carry, manage his REDBIRD. I don't want to try depositing $1k  to my chase checking cos chase may think i am doing something suspicious and they may shut my account down.  Is there any alternative? Is there a way to deposit this check back to his red bird account? If  so, How?

Thanks

Just reloaded at Flatbush Avenue with no issues.

Also of note, manager told me that new policies are being enforced because "the red card drives negative sales." Take the comment as you wish.

You can just send money between red cards, for the future

I know that and have done it BUT
I am talking about a personal check that I have but in my brother's name.  How can I send this check to his or my redbird account? How you  deposit  it? ??? Regular checking accounts allows check deposit, but don't know if redbird has that feature?

Oh no 😥 And I just got my practically free night in a hotel in MA for my RC trip for next Thursday.  Hope it gets straightened out not cancelled .

Feel compelled to drive 2 1/2 hours to use the almost/free room regardless. LOL
Will send pictures of the snow
