Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

You can get a bigger bang for your buck with the Amex Everyday Preferred card (if you make 30 purchases on it a month), and the Chase United Club card.

And dont forget PRG if youre gonna hit 30k still seems to have grandfathered in the 15k bonus as well.

Hi guys!
What do you think is the best cc to load rc with?
Currently i'm using my spg... Can I get a bigger bang for my buck with another card?

as already mentioned, it depends on ur goals
the best cash back at the moment is the wells fargo 5% card
target counts as groceries, so u will have a good 6months to max out for cash back

+1 I was just giving examples of where he could get a bigger bang for the buck, although it definitely depends on how he'll use it.

For cash back Arrival Plus is better but even better though would be 3% back from a card from a credit union.

After reading on FM about some potential shut down and F/R issues around too many cash deposits at times I wonder what veterans here think:

Swipe for UR > move from RC to diff Bank account > pay off CC online with that diff Bank account OR

Swipe for UR > move from RC to diff Bank account > pay off CC online with UR Bank account > take out $ from diff account > deposit in Chase account.

Anyone report issues with shut downs or F/Rs for going the 2nd route?

You transfer to the bank you swiped with and then pay with that same account for CC? So full cycle on same product?

You can. Many diff ways of doing things. I like unloading RC to separate bank from what I read in a few places. Haven't tried RC bill pay really (not saying I won't). Just wondering about the methods listed by me if anyone has done one over the other and why / if anyone had issues with the cash deposits.

I swipe for UR, MR and SPG -- usually a mix each time.

I transfer from my RedCard to my non-Chase bank, and then pay CC bills from there.

I transfer from my wife's RedCard to her (different) non-Chase bank, and pay mortgage from there. (I would pay mortgage directly from RedCard were it not for the fact that the mortgage exceeds $5000/month -- oy vey.)

House is fine, not a palace. Paying for location. Don't tell Dan -- he'll say move to CLE.
