Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

never had that. But I'm in bk... it's been a while since I was allowed anywhere near that amount of trans

Let me clarify, it was 3 RedCards. 6 $1000 transactions, and 2 $500 transactions. Their computers no longer allow them to charge $2500 with one swipe.

Will it charge as a cash advance?
AFAIK, as of now all redcard loads process as a regular target purchase, so no worry of cash advance for any card.

8 trans on 1 card?
I did 15 transactions no problem. Maybe that cashier had limits on dollar amounts of transactions.

Perhaps. He tried switching computers too, but that didnít work. Thatís probably attributable to him using the same employee ID card though.

8k in 1 sitting is nothing to cry about. I sometimes get limited to 600 bucks (3 $200 vgc) idiot lady thinks 3 swipes is a limit.

Iím not complaining at all ó totally agree with you. Just never seen the system do it automatically before. Usually the Rep says I canít do anymore without calling my manager. This time, the computer actually wouldnít process the transaction.

Definitely an employee limitation. Have had cashiers tell me that they are limited to $500 or less.

I think I heard that with Citi they do. I don't have a Citi card so I can't say I've tried it.

Went into the store to load three cards  and was again limited -- this time to $2500 total. Store clerk said there was a $2500 limit per person per day (obviously incorrect, but what can you do).
