Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

That stinks. Why would anyone yell at them. Just so stupid. I was just at Hackensack on 3/11 at night. I always used customer service and they've always been very nice. $900 at a time is a lot of visits to Target. Maybe I'll start using the visa gift cards if I can only do $900 at a time anyway.

If I'm using VGCs, do I need to do anything differently? Or do I just tell them $200 and swipe? What about in a store like Paramus that doesn't take CC for loads like this?

With Visa GCs, either you run them as debit, one at a time, or run as credit, and you can tell them $1000 (or whatever they let), and swipe each one 'til you hit $1K.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

FOR VGC
in hackensack i say 1000. hit cancel, credit and then tell them the last four digits...we continue through all five cards..
in paramus you cannot hit credit they freak out....you tell them debit and they need to key in 200 with each card..cant do 1000...it asksyou for pin and u key in last four digits on card...

Anyone go to clifton??

PSA: if you see the person in front of you at GS is also filling up a redcard or there its a busy time,  please stop and return when it's not busy. Keep it on the DL so they don't ban CCs altogether.

Did you mean to say cancel? When do I hit cancel, when it says to swipe the card?

Honestly...if you were the manager of a Target being bombarded with people loading for MS what would you do? They are not there to service your MS needs. This was inevitable especially once so many people started flooding their CS with loads. I am just being honest.

Might be worth moving someplace with less DDFers  ;) :-*

Yes living in a DDF overload zone can be very inconvenient.

I loaded today $2500 on my RC with 1 cc swipe, on the receipt and on my cc online account it shows a charge of $2500, but on my RC online account it only shows up $1500
Anyone with similar experience?
The RC CSR told me to go ahead and dispute $1000 with my cc and they will accept the dispute.
I went ahead and disputed the charge with amex,
Amex just came back and told me that target denied the claim and provided them with a signed itemized receipt.
What could I do know? called RC and not getting anywhere  :'(

I just felt that in town heat in Wisconsin. Reloaded 2 cards at electronics and 4 at cashier and had a GS manager type deal come over to my cashier and told her that there's a 5k daily limit. I asked her to top off the one she was loading any way and was happy to do so anyway.

Yup. Got my bonus then transferred the refund to my bank account.
