Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

Thanks! So just say 1k and swipe the AGC and input last 4 on card.
There is no difference between Amex Gift cards and regular CC

Just one small thing, once you purchase an AGC, might have to wait a couple hours for the funds to load onto the gift card. Just saying from past experience

When buying from a store, correct. But not when buying them online from Amex directly.

Unless, of course, you're doing the UPS method.

True, but UPS together with AGC is a rare find.

Not always. In some rare cases they will need to be activated and some will need to be replaced.

Anyway to know before swiping if activation/replacement is needed?

There are three different states the GC can be in. I would have to dig up the info. It is rare and happens most of time when large amounts are consistently ordered. It did happen very often during the Mint deal.

She told me that it was on the screen that I need to show ID. I believe that it was because I did debit first and because the machine wasn't taking it after many tries, I asked to do credit instead. May have put her guard up then. Oh well, I have 3+ Targets close by.

Stop gloating 😊
