Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

My mistake. I thought in the past it was.
I thought so too.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

Two questions for those of you that use REDcards that are not in your name (i.e. your brother said that you can sign up for one in his name because he doesn't plan on using one):

1) When you register for the card, do you put your address, or your brother's address (assuming you live at different addresses)?

2) How do you withdraw the funds from the REDcard account? To your account, or to your brother's account?

1) I believe they try to verify the identity through public records. If they can't find a record of him at your address, they'll ask for additional verification.

1) They will ask you to verify the information,  they will just need a ID card and the social security card,  they will not ask proof of address.
2) you can send money from your brothers account to your account and then withdrawal it to your bank account ,  or you can pay your CC bill with your brothers RC account.

Did they just start doing this recently? Because when I got my RC, they didn't do this at all...

Ok. So I definitely shouldn't link his RC account to my checking account, correct?

1) its not a recent  thing,  they asked me to very information when I registered my friends RC with my address 5 months ago,
2) it wouldn't be the best idea

Remove your bro's name from his card and put your name, leave the everything  as it is. problem solved! you need a handy man i guess 8)

They did ask for address verification in the form of a utility bill. This was in November. You should never attempt to have 2 RCs linked to 1 account. They will shut you down if RC accounts dont match bank account that you are withdrawing to. I personally use bill pay to send checks for those accounts that i do not have accounts to link to.

Some "apps" raise flags for whatever reason. Some I had to verify some not.
