Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

has anyone loaded with an amex card then turned around and paid the amex acct with the redcard? do they monitor the charges and the payments directly to the credit card that was charged?

It's not recommended to do it too often. They might freeze the account.

No one reported that his account was frozen because he paid off his CC bill from his RC account, but definitely it's not the best idea to do so.
