You should prob try asking your "beginners questions"  in the questions for beginners thread...

I was more focused on asking in the topic-appropriate thread. With the degree to which people have gone off topic in this thread, I didn't think about someone caring that it was a beginner question on the topic. I'll try to keep it more advance-level off-topic for you next time.

why not put the charging of other stuff on your regular credit card? Why go the extra step of loading the rc if your using it for charging. Just pay for stuff with the vgc and don't waste your time.

The truth? Because I didn't think of it. I'm good at overcomplicating things that way. Thanks for pointing out the obvious though (legitimately no sarcasm there), I'll stick with that for the extra spending. Unless I decide to just give in and let MS be MS and spend like normal on other cards.

I tried loading my vanilla visa that I bought from OD at Target as credit, but it was rejected. I have done this same transaction about 2 dozen times with Visa gift cards from staples, and never run into this problem. Am I supposed to wait a few hours for the vanilla card to "activate"? I even tried loading it as debit, that didn't work either.  When I call the number on the back of the gift card, the funds are there.

Weirdest thing is happening to me, logged into my red card account and it pulled up a regular serve  card page but with all my regular account activity

Data point. I don't know if the manager, at target Brooklyn junction, just made this rule up. She didn't let me swipe Amex GC, even though it had my name on it.

Just loaded at Brooklyn junction with AGC. While loading, the manager told me that the "reloading thing" won't be going on much longer at said target. Could be nothing, could mean something.
