Topic Wiki

Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

Just loaded at OOT target. Bad news and good news. Credit cards are no longer accepted but debit cards are. On the screen that used to say No Target Gift Cards now says No Target Gift Cards or Third Party credit cards. She tried for me any way and it wouldn't accept the CC. But VGC with PIN worked fine.

Which would make sense as this would make it on par with BB at Walmart

Datapoint: played around at the register... Regular cc from several differnt banks- no go. Seems har coded. Tried swiping a visa gift card as a cc, also no go put using a pin was fine.

Target in Silver Spring (Wheaton) was hard coded not to accept third party credit.  CSR was as surprised as I pretended to be.

Don't see why there would be a difference between that and and visa gift card being processed as a credit card.... Also don't be fooled just because it asks you to sign the screen will say $0.00 can be applied to this payment on the cashiers end...

I'll take it.  Target has so many more stores at least for me to access than Walmart.  And.. I feel like Target's cashier line moves faster than Walmart but that might be just based on a few very bad experience at WMT....

I also noticed that that the Target Customer Service did move people along rather quickly.
