Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

Was way of loading 2.5k on 1 swipe (convenient and less annoying fraud alerts) but didn't stick around too long.

Wonder what I should do with few redbirds i have and manage? Some are family member's but I used them to load my card.

If I can still do Visa gift card loads  like  it is reported, I would keep one.

Should I cancel  couple of them and sign up for Serve or Bluebird again? Is walmart still allowing visa gift cards load and up to $2k a day?  Serve now only allows Amex issued card load only right? And you earn your rewards? Or  get the Bluebird? BB or Serve?  I had them before but changed to RB.
Thanks

Thanks

I just changed your statement from 2k daily to 2.5
Serve only allows amex online now that is correct, you will not earn points.
they are basically all equal now, target is generally easier to load cards at and closer to some people.

I just went to my local target to load with a $500 vanilla gc. The lady there tells me that the system has been down for the past two days, and it's a global corporate issue that they are trying to fix! I ask her to try, and what do you know it works!

I guess someone still didn't get the memo.

The point of my post was to show how clueless target employees could be.
Thanks for enlightening me though.

moves faster I guess, when I was doing BB/Serve in Walmart I would do $600 load and just swipe 3- $200 cards one after the other, you walk away with less receipts and the clerk doesn't have to swipe your card every time - the only thing is it's a hassle to try explaining it to a clerk that doesn't know how to do it.
