Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

So which is it, no gift cards or no debit cards without your name? You can get personalized VGCs, so if the name is the issue, that would be a workaround. A little research shows you can get a $500 VGC with your name on it for a $4.95 fee (giftcards.com). There may be better deals out there.
