Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

Does the 5,000 a month limit reset the first of each month or does it go by a month after the day you registered?

Resets first of each month regardless of when you register your card

The spin did not work.

Tried to take from checking and from savings but still nothing more than $400 i got the first time.

I've never tried taking from Checking or Savings; I always take from Credit Card.

When they look at you like you're crazy, hand them the card and ask them to please swipe it on their side. Then the system will tell them what to do (it'll ask how much to load)

Thanks. And any issues with my wife's RedCard but my CC? Even if they ask for ID, they'll be matching it up to my CC not the RedCard, right?

Finally, it's accepted that the best way to load $2500 is to ask to load $1K, then ask for another transaction/get back in line/new cashier and then do another $1K and then do $500?

Just go straight to CS. do 3 transactions in a row, or the FT way. No need to get back in line! It takes less then a fraction the amount of time of any other transaction done there.

And when doing GCs, do you do 1 per transaction, or a bunch to total $1k?
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

And tell them that it will be on a few cards. Credit or Debit works.

Ime, the cashier can do just fine, and as long as there is no line,  you can do multiple times . I would be wary of the ft method, once I tried it and the cashier messed it up and then they started telling me that I can't use gift cards
