Topic Wiki

Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

Both.  You might have a harder time at the register though.

GC's no longer allowed at this location.  Only card with your name on it.  Barclays Target only permits 1 load per visit period.

So i bought a temp redcard from someone who had already activated it in Baltinore and loaded  it with $1.  I got the unopened temp card in the mail amd registered it in my name with no issues.   Just got the new permanent card in the mail but when i try to activate, i get error that  "yearly allow credit card load amount has been exceeded."  I called customer service and the almost impossible to understand Indian rep says i need to fax some personal information and the store receipt where the temp was purchased to their resolution center.  I bought this temp card from somebody and dont have a reciept.   Any idea what this could be about or what i should do?

What suddenly happened?  It was possible to buy from third parties and activate in other locations?  And now it isn't any more?  Can someone please explain what happened?

I did 1k at CS counter then went upstairs to electronics  dept. Not in the system for sure. Power hungry CS reps making up the rules. One told me its the max allowed on this card. As if she would know because they sell them in NY...:-)
