Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

Is this in the system or you can just walk out and come right back?

While the CS reps are stupid they are not THAT stupid so as not to recognize you if you walk right back in to load.

So dont go to CS. Any register can do it. All u have to do is tell the cashier  to swipe on the right side of the register and the screen will prompt.

Most cashiers refuse and direct you to CS.

I think people are fooling themselves when they "ask permission" from the (minimum wage) cashiers. Target isn't a mom and pop store where the person behind the counter can give permission for these things.

For those that will say that management doesn't mind I bring the fact that they are stopping people from registering the cards outside of the pilot area from registering the cards as exhibit one.

When you walk in to target, or any other dept. store, the person behind the register is your representative of the upper management, and as far up as the owner.

Furthermore, if the cashier tells you that you may walk out without paying for whatever, you don't need to call the highest manager of the company. You do not need to call the CEO. Or all the shareholders... you can just do as the cashier says.

Your cashier is just as good as the manager... whoever hired the manager, trusts him to represent the company to the customers...

So let's be clear.  Is it possible to activate a red card in Brooklyn area or not?  And if not is it possible to load money on it in Brooklyn if it's already activated?

I've had a very successful attempt (as reported upthread) a week ago, not sure why it would change, unless these people all together decide to make NEW rules,
Not sure about activation,
My question is, are people scanning the correct barcode or the wrong one, as if I remember correctly, there are 2...

So to be clear for  the 50th time u asked. Activation in Brooklyn seems dead but YMMV. Loading in Brooklyn is alive and well but amounts are still YMMV.
