Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

Anybody know how much time do I have after activating a temporary red card till I have to register it online ? Does the card expire after a certain amount of time ? Thank you in advance...
From posts upthread it seems like it does not.  Hasn't been around long enough to find out.

If you don't register the card, then it's a non-refundable gift card. From the back of the RC flap, "Temporary Card subject to terms and conditions of enclosed Cardholder Agreement. It cannot be reloaded, used at ATM's or used internationally. Funds do not expire. For full functionality, you must successfully register for a prepaid REDcard account..."

Has anyone used the Redcard to directly pay your credit card bill (Amex or Chase) that you used to reload the Redcard? Or is that too risky?

Yes and I'm not concerned about it.

And another question: Is Bill Pay even working for anyone? When I click on "Pay Bills", I get, "Due to technical difficulties we are unable to process your request at the moment. Please try again.

We apologize for the inconvenience."

I registered a RC yesterday and did't receive the confirmation email yet. Any reason why it's taking so long?

If you used an email that was previously associated with a BB or Serve account you will have to call and change the email.

Never used for bb or serve, not in spam. called them up, went to automated service, said the card was registered. hung up and then the confirmation email came through. weird

I see RC selling on eBay for $35 a pop. Haha anybody know where I could get cheaper? Keep in mind I'm in CA. The closest RC-carrying Target to me is Tucson.

If you are having trouble accessing billpay, first try updating the phone number that you have saved in your account. If that doesn't work, call customer service and change your email address to one that has never been associated with any Amex prepaid.

People sell on here. Keep in mind that you should get your hands on an activated one since activation in non-participating Targets doesn't seem to work anymore (especially in CA)

Last time i posted on this thread was a few weeks ago, since then I have had no trouble loading close to 20k on 4 different cards.
I can tell you what worked for me and if someone can tell me what has changed in 40 pages of this.
I got the cards from people who already activated the cards and loaded initial $5.
They then sent me their dob and card number and security and I put in all my info, (closed serve card right before).
I then went to target and loaded $1500 while I waited for my permanent card to come, once it did, I loaded 2500 and then the remainder on my next diaper trip.
If someone can explain
1)what the issues that are occurring lately?
2)has targets policy changed?
3)are the cs reps told they can only load an X amount a day?
4)is there any way for them to see that if u go to a different register?
5) is there are issues is this only in specific stores? if yes it would be helpful if the oilam knew which ones to avoid or what you need to circumvent there.
Thanks
