Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

when loading the RC with a venture card from capitol one, does it count as a cash advance or a regular purchase?

Without being familiar with that particular card, it shows up on every cc I've used as "Target" and a purchase. There have been no reports anywhere of it coding as a cash advance.

I still wouldn't worry. It doesn't seem that it looks different to them than any other target purchase. If you're nervous, why not just start with a $1 load and see what happens? Or set your CA limit to 0 - this isn't Serve that first pends as a CA

Has a dayly ATM withdrawal limit dropped from $750 to $400? I could only withdraw $400 with my temp card today at Target in Brooklyn

I loaded today $2500 on my RC with 1 cc swipe, on the receipt and on my cc online account it shows a charge of $2500, but on my RC online account it only shows up $1500
Anyone with similar experience?
Just called RC and they told me that the $1000 load on the temp card is counting towards the monthly $5000 limit and therefore only $1500 was loaded and not $2500
He gave me 2 options or go back to target and get a refund or dispute the charge with my credit card.
As it was one big charge for $2500 is there a way to dispute just part of a charge?

They should have the system decline if you reached the limit

It was with multiple made up SSNs, on several days, activating ~8 on each day.
So you have not confirmed that there is no max per social per month. What is the max you've done on one social in one month?

Probably 5. But anyone who is activating in bulk isn't using 1 social.

I've lowered cash advance to 100 on my cc, just in case rc reload is considered ca (rc reload, for me, is always more than 100). never happened yet :)

incorrect, 1500 and 3500 on perm card.
Based on my experience, need to get an already activated card and then register it in your social, if don't have serve or bb and then AFAIK can put 1500 on temp card and then when perm card arrives can activate perm card can put another 3500.
Is all this confusion on this thread going on because people are getting unactivated cards and trying to activate them in states where they aren't sold?

Has anyone attempted to transfer in excess of 5k to a linked bank account?  I tried and the transaction didn't go through.  Ended up doing bp.

Was having that issue with BP. They may have limited that too.
