Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

anyone have success recently  with registering a red card in the tristate area? i tried several times in brooklyn and no success

Read upthread. Registering in areas that don't sell the cards seems to be dead.

Trying to load with amex preferred. Card keeps being declined. Called amex and they said there is no fraud, and they don't even see it going through. Anybody have this?
Or can you not use amex?
Am at store now. Would appreciate help asap. Tia.

Just used spg personal last night reloading on 2 REDcards. First load was declined due to it being the 1st day that the spg cc was activated. After i cleared it up, the rest of the loads worked.

Security alert....

Part two:
Called amex again, and they said there was a security alert. And they will call me back. Waited 10 min, no callback. Tried calling again, was not able to get a human"this department is closed".
Finally got a human tried to connect me and wait on the line with me and... Fraud is closed now!?
So I am not able to make my purchase. Asked for something so that I don't go to sleep feeling bad with amex...but she said that she can't. Asked for supervisor... he can't either. He or another manager will call me back in a few days. Got his name and employee number.
How many points can I ask for will they give me for compensation. I'm with them close to 10 years.

Just had this on the Blue cash preferred. Was able to get the everyday preferred thru for a partial load but declined on the first try with the BCP. Finished my load on PRG.

Pikesville MD seems to be out of cards. I supposedly got the last one at CS tonight. Nothing on the floor. CS said there is no limit to how many i can take i just need to activate.
Fair warning - Any PMs sent in response to forum posts are fair game for ridicule in public.

Just tried loading a us bank mastercard gift card,  wouldn't go though as a credit card but once I called us bank and set a pin it went through no problem as a regular debit card.
so I can assume that an Amex gift card wouldn't work since u can't add pin..?

Honestly I don't know but I couldn't find any way that the computer would be able to treat it like a credit card it automatically made me enter a pin, I also tried pressing cancel to see if there was anything else to push like with BB but I couldn't find anything, but once I set the pin, that went without hassle
If you think nobody cares about you... just forget to pay your credit card bill

Is it a better spend to buy Amex GC's from Amex then load to RedBird, as opposed to just going straight Amex --->Redbird?

There is an advantage in that you don't have to deal with fraud alerts

Hey guys,
This may sound like a dumb question as I'm completely new to all of this, (I only have 1 credit card to my name at the moment... I know right?!) but I noticed in the post on DansDeals.com that for opening his prepaid target REDcard he got a 70,000 new member points bonus. is that an ongoing thing or was it a promotion at the time? I'll be getting my target REDcard in the coming week to finally begin racking up some points and was just curious. thanks so much y'all!
