Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

My wife and I just started "the game" about 2 months ago. Only cards we have at the moment that get us anywhere points-wise are the Chase Freedom, Chase United Explorer (55k deal), and the Redcard. Not sure what our next move will be...anyone have any suggestions? (Maybe I should've posted this q elsewhere)

Never makes sense to use RedCard for purchases, get an Amex CC if you need purchase protection.

Add to RedCard, take out from ATM, use another CC for purchases, then use the cash to pay CC (deposit into your bank to pay bills)

Right, I was thinking along that route. I really did only get the Redcard for loading/unloading purposes. I was just thinking that I didn't need to get another card right away. I guess at some point or as soon as the next good offer pops up we'll get an Amex.

per card, per day, on any allpoint machines. Is the machine in the Pikesville Target an Allpoint machine or some other company. I can tell you I've tried others as well and it doesnt work. Was in Pikesville last week and didnt get to try. Dont know that I'll be back in MD anytime soon.

The Pikesville MD location sure is. I was there and see someone (probably a DDFer) working that machine with a bunch of redcards

I don't have any other Amex cards and would use it for said purchase protection. So far I haven't used it anywhere else.
