Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

it should work although some reported stores making their own rules that it must have your name on it
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

You are correct. I should have added that as always, YMMV.

Check your local stores!!

I live in a non-participating state and one of the local Targets is carrying redbirds. The other ones are not.  I activated, registered, the who shebang.  The rollout must be moving forward stealthily.

I tried and was unsuccessful. Serve had worked for me in the past. I did put in a request to Mint to add RC to their list.

I've done Serve and BB... guess if we wait a bit, they'll probably add RC.

Irrelevant. If it happened in mine, it could happen anywhere.

They havent updated the list of states where its available. Stealth rollout...surprising. Wonder what the motivation is.

Btw, for those who use the redcard for purchases at target to get the 5% off, even if you only have a minimal amount on the card, by swiping it at the register it will take 5% off your entire purchase,  and you can then use a different card to pay for the rest. IME

When I don't remember which card I've used, I can look for that transaction on mint and see which card I used.

this mehalech also works with Lowes... as far as I was told, you need not have any balance to get the 5% back.
