Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

The customer service cashier at Target on Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn refused to load the red card with credit card saying that now it can be loaded only with debit card or cash. Is it legit?

Uh-Oh....

I'd only be nervous if the cashier tries to load it and the system rejects the credit card.  Until then, it's just a policy so try to find another cashier...

But be smart about it
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

I was there an hour or two ago, and I wasn't challenged reloading with a credit card, but when I tried to do a second load with a second credit card, I was told that I could only do one per day. I asked if the new policy applied to all Targets, and she didn't know, but she said that it just got rolled out to this Target today.

If there's any truth to what she said, perhaps another cashier misunderstood the memo.

I just tried it at target on Atlantic Avenue and it is OVER!!!
they said only cash and debit .
I told her i have a debit card (it was an Amex)
she tried it and it did not go through.
She tried it 5 times for me , she was really nice about it ...
She said to her colleague "i dont know why they changed the system , it was going fine before"

Based on your post count I predict that your card was simply declined.

Look on the back of your card, you will see two 1800 numbers.  Call the one that says costumer service and ask them to help you.  :)

I saw someone mention this upthread but didnt notice any reply. When I log into one of my redcard accounts and try to pay bills it says "Due to technical difficulties we are unable to process your request at the moment. Please try again. We apologize for the inconvenience."

Anyone know why this happens and what to do to fix it?

I also noticed someone wrote that you can link you RC account with your bank account even if it's under a different name using instant verification. I did this and it seemed to work but then when I transferred $3000 (initially it looked like it will go through) it got returned. Anyone had success with this?

Check the phone number on your account.

YMMV.

A full ten digits. Even if it's already 10 digits, delete the number and put it back in.
