Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

Transfer from another RC / Serve / BB. Instant.

Cool. Will try and do that now. So it sounds like u can make any size purchase + 5% off as long as something is in the account. Thanks

Please let us know if you get the 5% off - I had trouble with an online purchase a couple of weeks ago, and had to call them.

It's actually a weird story. I was using my RC more for the free shipping than the 5% off. For some reason I wasn't seeing either, so I chatted with target. The rep had no clue what I was talking about. At some point the order went through without me pressing submit, and she said that on her end she sees that I used my amex card to pay, and she's very sorry but because I didn't use my Redcard she can't help. (She actually offered to give me a $5 credit to compensate, because it's my first time ordering online...).

Anyways, I called redcard and they told me that first the purchase goes through regularly, and when it changes from pending to posted, they'll refund the shipping and 5%, and it can take 10 days. Well 10 days later, the pending transaction disappeared from my redcard account, and I haven't seen it since! I haven't done a balance analysis (it was a small purchase so it's hard to tell), but I have a feeling that they messed up and just removed the whole purchase from the account.

Who knows?

Sounds like they were explaining how it works to me. Anyone else try this yet? You pay shipping and full price and only once it posts do they "refund" / take off the charged? Is that the way the RC operates on those benefits?

No need for a pin, you can swipe any gc as credit for RC load

His Q was regarding GCs instead of CCs... so maybe his store doesn't take CC, in which case he'd need GCs with pins

What Type of advantages are you guys seeing with buying gift cards over direct loading credit cards with RC?

Aren't you paying load fees like $5.95/GC?
