Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

I haven't followed the thread daily but it seems like it's time to add this warning to the wiki. I know it already says that you should go to different registers and do 1k each but it would help a lot of people who haven't read all 5661 posts and are just trying to help by posting their new experience at target ("AHHHH!!! Redbird is over!!!!" as an example). Just a little posting in red saying that says some managers/regions/moody CS reps are saying its 1k would go along way to stopping this repeating conversation.

In fact, today the cashier asked for ID,  so I gave it to her along with my amex gift card and my wife's redcard. And she said "oh. I don't need ID,  it is a gift card" 😛😛😛😛

yes, in the RC states, most cashiers know how to do it, however, least attention possible in the other states if we want this to remain alive...

No I mean 600 in one 700 in the other (to avoid fraud alerts). As I said I've been doing this for a while without issues.

there is no loop to be in... these people make the rules for their own agenda, most likely to limit the time a cashier spends dealing with reloads. i dont think things will change when they roll it out nationally...
