Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

im afraid to post my question :)
i screwed up..and didnt off load about 2000 last month... i reloaded another 5000 and went to pay 7000 worth of bills. obviously it didnt let more then 5000. so i went to target atm to go withdraw funds. it didnt let either. is 5000 the max u can use a month regardless of whats in account? any way to off load the remaining 2000?
i cant transfer to my bank, as the card is in my dads name .....(just ignore that part)

You can transfer from one redcard to another.  Transfer some from your father to you and then withdraw it to your bank account...

Ok - to follow up on the 5% off + free shipping question I had 2 days ago:

Just spoke to 2 diff. people at Target (on the phone). Both said that you need to have a balance on the account that will cover the cost of the item you want to purchase. It makes sense bc how else would you pay for the item?

It seemed that some ppl said you just needed A balance as opposed to the full balance for the item which according to them is incorrect.

Feel free to let me know how I can do it anyways (if thats possible).

I've been loading with my Arrival+ card and it's been fine except for the first time where it wasn't allowed. I just called them and told them the charge was legit and everything has been fine since. Now my wife just got a redcard and is going to load with her AU Arrival+ card. Is there any chance they're going to not allow the charge since the last 2 digits of the account number is different. I'd rather not call Barclays since I don't want them asking questions about all of these large Target purchases.
I had them stop charges 3 times in 15 minutes. THey were just concerned cuz target has had the security breach. When it finally all cleared, the lady wished me luck with my project.

So my wife was just told in the Paramus Target that they can't take credit card for loads anymore. Only cash or debit card. The lady at customer service said it's a new policy. I've never gone to the Paramus target before to load so I'm not sure if this is legit or not. But it's certainly a bad sign.

Lady there said that she knows and she got in trouble for it and can only load with cash and debit for now on. I have no idea if this is just one store/customer service rep or what.

Or just pay the credit card directly

If you are located in a state that does not sell the prepaid Target REDcard yet, please feel free to visit http://www.616mg.com to purchase an instant digital or physical prepaid REDcard.

Be sure to use coupon code DANSDEALS for $5 off your order!

Today I went to a target that is pretty close to a city with high DDF population it all went extremely smooth the CSR was about to fill it up with 1500$ without even asking I told her I want only 800$ so she offered to fill it up again when I finished that transaction she was really nice and friendly

yes we like how most Target employees help out their customers. If this lasts and is a better experience than WM then it's a win-win. I've been spending more at Target and getting good items as hakoras hatov, too. Keep friendliness towards the cashiers, plus save 5% on all purchases and everyone wins.
