Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

I just loaded in Howell at CS (to avoid line at register). I was told that name on cc has to match name on redcard.
I once had that and before the cashier got too far i offered my id that matched the cc and had no problem
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

In Baltimore, they ask for ID but don't care if it matches. So strange. In fact,  when I show them the gc, they say "oh forget about it"
Last night I went to target and loaded. Np. Didn't ask for ID. But some registers were making up a rule that you can only register one card, others didn't care and let me register more. I loaded my card and my mom's card w/ no ID needed.

ID should be mandatory for CC use. Matching RC to CC shouldn't. It makes sense that a person charging thousands of dollars should have to show ID that he/she is the card holder or an AU. Why are people so surprised when they ask for ID?

Just a note: Had the load issue tonight again. Loaded $500, my credit card was approved and charged but did not load onto my redcard. Called up Redcard, they opened a case, and told me to dispute my CC so I wouldn't need to pay the $500. Done and Done.

My other 5 swipes went perfectly.

So the RC reps weren't surprised about CC payments?

Never. As long as I have a few success, a 4 minute phone call to dispute the charge is worth it.

But it's calling attention to the CC loads, and AMEX doesn't know about it and it will make them shut it down!!!!!!!

No, just trying to figure out if it's worth buying an activated one or wait for the ny stores to get them.

depends on how far you live from Target and if you have other things you'd rather be doing.
