Went into Target in Miami yesterday. Customer Service rep was blocked from loading RedCard after 8 transactions. Never saw the system shut them out like that before. Anyone else have that experience.

Also, anyone know if I can use my Citi World Elite MC to load RedCards? Will it charge as a cash advance?

No, two or three different cards. It was with one rep and on the same check out computer.

Let me clarify, it was 3 RedCards. 6 $1000 transactions, and 2 $500 transactions. Their computers no longer allow them to charge $2500 with one swipe.

the 2500 with 1 swipe has been dead for a while (except for Chuck) doesnt depend on location

AFAIK, as of now all redcard loads process as a regular target purchase, so no worry of cash advance for any card.

Thanks. I could have sworn I saw a post somewhere about Citi cards being charged as Cash Advances. I can’t seem to find that post anywhere though.

I did 15 transactions no problem. Maybe that cashier had limits on dollar amounts of transactions.

Perhaps. He tried switching computers too, but that didn’t work. That’s probably attributable to him using the same employee ID card though.

8k in 1 sitting is nothing to cry about. I sometimes get limited to 600 bucks (3 $200 vgc) idiot lady thinks 3 swipes is a limit.

I’m not complaining at all — totally agree with you. Just never seen the system do it automatically before. Usually the Rep says I can’t do anymore without calling my manager. This time, the computer actually wouldn’t process the transaction.

Definitely an employee limitation. Have had cashiers tell me that they are limited to $500 or less.

I think I heard that with Citi they do. I don't have a Citi card so I can't say I've tried it.

Went into the store to load three cards and was again limited -- this time to $2500 total. Store clerk said there was a $2500 limit per person per day (obviously incorrect, but what can you do).
