Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

I'm sorry I meant target gift card
The screen for the cashier/CS rep specifically say cannot use gift cards. VGC are fine (excluding employees making up rules).

one employee by 117th street told me no GC, I politely pressed on saying i've done it before can we try. She said no. I pulled out a cc and when the "no TGC" popped up she's like "see I told you no GC" I told her thats TGC, but here's my cc anyway. She canceled the trans and told me to leave.

Why would they allow you to take a Target credit which you must use in their store and convert it to cash...?

only because you asked so nicely. I made a point out how polite I was, not pushy at all.

This lady has some issue with being wrong or challenged in any way. One B employee isnt gnna get this shut down... imo

CS?

What did she look like? I ask bc I've been to that store and one CS rep said something similar, then called over the manager to whom I explained what a RC was (i.e. not a gift card), and he then told her to go ahead with my transaction. I am pretty sure the confusion stems from A) the on screen message, and B) a "policy" not to allow the purchase of GCs with GCs.

cashier, black, fake eyebrows. CS took over once she made a scene and didnt let me use VGC either. Twas the last day of the month and I had 2+k in GC to get rid of so I hung around. My persistence paid off and founf a rookie to do the everything I wanted... until I got slammed by fraud alerts

yes please. If they stopped taking cc would it be easier to use gc? They would most likely stop taking them as well.

Even after calling Chase Fraud Services and telling them to expect 15k in purchases at Target over the next couple of months, my card STILL got a FA last night after loading one card (2.5k). WTF else can I do to avoid these things? Stop getting new cards? LOL

Load uneven numbers.
