Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

I'm aware that it runs on the serve platform but the T&C should match word for word, I'm just saying that it seems odd that he is shut down for a product he is carrying based on the T&C of a different product. Even though they both run on the same platform, they are still separate products and if the T&C could be enforced on both products, they should either merge the two T&C or just copy and paste Serve's over to Red Card.

Just seems like a loop hole where if somebody wanted to contest this, they could and would actually have a leg to stand on.
It's not contestable as the account was shut down already.

Hold your horses there. I said I knew the poster, nothing more. I am still in the hoax camp.
Ok what's going to convince you :)? But as I said I'm not trying to convince you of the validity of those. I'm just observing the similarities between mine and theirs.

Yours didn't say you couldn't open another one. The FT/VFTW ones did. Try opening another RC and see what happens?

Yes I agree with what you're saying but we've been through this before yesterday I believe on this thread. They must be invoking 15E just to say they can sh*t you down.

Hey there! I am using DansDeals Forums.

Yes I already did they said they had no info to give me.

Did they say that you would get a letter detailing their decision? I would not expect this from a bank like AMEX......now BMO Harris is another story  >:(

Also on a side note.....Aj3042....with the shutdowns etc and strange wording in the email(s) I was skeptical. Sorry to hear your account was closed. Hope there is a way for you to get it back, or at least do they mention you being blacklisted from any other "serve" product?

Interesting thing is I was told by rep I COULD reopen (I know they don't know what they're talking about). When I tried the system says I can't because i have an existing one. Now the account is definitely closed as you'll see in the pic so that makes no sense.

Hmm maybe he should give it a few days to flow through the system. Or call in a week and ask innocently for help opening.

Nope no mention at all. Look at what D93 quotes from me in the post after yours. The whole thing with my RC's is very strange no question about it.

Interestingly, now that I've been poking around RC's T&C, it seems that Amex intended to include non-cash sources in their definition of cash. From Section 5(b)(4):

Quote
You may add funds to your Account by (i) presenting cash (US currency only) or other accepted tender and your Card at participating Target stores in the U.S. or (ii) using other cash funding sources and methods accepted by us from time to time (collectively, "Cash Funding Sources").

To add funds to your Account with cash or other accepted tender at a participating Target store in the U.S., present your activated Card and the amount of cash or other accepted tender you want to add to your Account to the cashier. To find a participating Target location, visit the Prepaid REDcard Site. Cash loads are subject to your Account transaction limits and such other restrictions we may add to this feature from time to time.

We reserve the right to delay the availability of funds added to your Account from any Cash Funding Source until such funds have cleared and posted to your Account, although such funds will generally post within thirty (30) minutes of the funding transaction. We and participating Target stores in the U.S. may change accepted tender types and funding methods for the Account at any time for legal, risk management, security or other purposes. In addition, your ability to add funds from any Cash Funding Source is also subject to the transaction limits on your Account related to adding funds (visit the Prepaid REDcard Site or contact us to find out what those transaction limits are).

Please note: Cash Funding Sources are services and products provided by third parties. Even though we allow the use of these Cash Funding Sources to add money to your Account, we do not provide these services or products and are not responsible for any service issues that arise with them. Use of a Cash Funding Source is subject to the terms and conditions established by the provider of the Cash Funding Source.

When you attempt to add money to your Account via a Cash Funding Source, we will notify you via e-mail when the transaction is completed successfully. You may also view any approved transactions by logging into your Account on the Prepaid REDcard Site.

Not all of us actually read the t and c when signing up for things. I'm just surprised no one has mentioned this whenever they get fearful that credit card load are somehow a system oversight, albeit one amex is fully aware of.

Maybe for red it was. It wasn't the case for bb/serve. I can't remember when I noticed the change in their terms.

BB/Serve you don't load at Target. AFT has always been this way for years.
