Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

Seems like people have done/do it, but can be a cause for shutdown.

Not worth it IMHO.

Not worth it. Most of the time they require you to verify the bank account by uploading a bank statement, if it's not the same name as on the RedCard, you will have major issues.

Can a OneVanilla be loaded onto a RC?
you may be asked for ID that matches both the RC and the GC

+1000 never happened when I was in OoT. I just want to make sure that it can even happen to begin with.

Just transfer the amount needed from their RC to yours (online) - it's a breeze, only email address needed. Then withdraw to your bank account. Takes some more time but that's the best way to do it AFAIK.

When cancelling a BB and then opening a Redcard it been mentioned to use a different email address. After the account is opened can I switch to the original email address?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

You can use same email once BB is closed.

Just pay off your cc with his rc. Or if you don't want to do that, send yourself a check.

Recent indications are that you cant do that anymore.
