Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

In response to those who were wondering why there is a lag when u send checks to urself via rc bill pay. I spoke to cs and they said ur not supposed to bill pay a check to the same name that is on the account. It took me 1 month to receive a check I sent to myself. Better option is to go to withdraw to ba

Most people sending checks to themselves are from other Redcards not in their name and cannot withdraw to bank.

I just got back from putting almost 20k MS on a card that is not in my name. So by that logic anyone can do it.  ::)

I dont even think that you are technically right. Nowhere in the T&C does it say you cannot load for another and nowhere does it say that you have to load yours with your own cc. So the only thing one gets away with is using someone elses cc without ID.

FYI my experience has been that only the Targets that are bombarded by DDFers are the ones asking for ID. The others want to see ID just to confirm use of the credit card. Once I've shown ID for the first cc used they dont bother asking for any further ID. I have moved my loading further from core NYC Targets and it works like a charm. If you have the time further out on LI, or off the beaten path in NJ or CT you will not have any of the limitations relating to load amounts, ID etc.

The target that I go to isn't in NY. Of course there is no way of knowing, but it doesn't seem like they're bombarded with DDFers.
