Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

Take out funds every couple days from ATM.  Didn't realize but now looking at my transaction history, it looks like I've withdrawn >$2k in April.  Anyone else successfully withdraw >$2k p month?
That is no problem.
I just found a new supply of forks!

Allpoint ATMs.

Which includes all 7-11 ATMs (in case that's helpful).

Loading Redbird with gift cards in NYC
« Reply #8045 on: April 09, 2015, 05:51:30 PM »
Looking to get some Redbird-gift cards data points for NYC during the last month or so:

- It's reported that you can't load Redbird with credit cards at the following stores: Atlantic Ave in Brooklyn, Bronx Terminal Market and Queens Place. What about loading with gift cards at these stores?

- Any other stores in NYC where you've tried to load with gift cards, if so, what was the outcome?

Thanks.

Stupid n00b Jews who take advantage, abuse and are mean suck. As someone said there are Def working targets in NYC and area, just get away from the shmucks in brooklyn and Queens and Teaneck.
Just read the posts about the frum guy yelling at csr and guy with his wallet exploding with redcards
While it is frustrating to see fellow Jews take advantage and probably cause us some grief, your rant smacks of anti-semitism. Besides, don't forget we were all noobs once!

Peop, it is prob best to leave religions/race/favorite cereal outside of this Redbird/MS thread, don't you think? Ok you can talk about cereal but only if you're cereal killer.

Thx. I'm looking for actual data points though, like what stores did you try when and what was the outcome.

In trying to establish some good data points for all New Yorkers, I also wrote a post summarizing the NYC Redbird situation. Let me know if I missed something.

I don't know if this question has been asked or answered before, but if I get a BB or RB under somebody else's name, can I bill pay my own credit cards directly from their BB or RB account even if cc's are under my name?  I've always kept it safe with BB by using checks to unload or by sending money to my wife's and my main BB accounts from the other BB accounts, but has anybody had any issues?  I'd rather not try, and risk being flagged or shut down, so I wonder if anybody else has.

Oh, and does the name on the BB or RB account have to match the bank account it links with (this may be a stupid question)?  haha

You can billpay any bill, regardless on whose name they are.

The bank acct you link to Redbird (or Bluebird/Serve) HAS to match the name of the Redbird acct, don't even try otherwise, often times Redbird (or PayPal for that matter) will ask proof of that and you don't want to be banned from Amex prepaid acct for a while for linking a bank acct or a debit card that is not on the name of the Redbird acct holder.

Is it okay to register two redcards to the same address, and then proceed to load them with the same cc?  Seems that would appear a bit shady...

Unless the store management prohibits you from loading Redbird with a credit card that doesn't match its--and your--name, it is ok. If you're on a line of people already doing this, your' number would be like 3786.

Maybe a little shady...but lots of people do it successfully. Just depends on the individual Target store in my experience.

chill chill, just chill guys!  take it easy and no name calling on each other.

so the guy infront of me opens his wallet,3 redbirds dropped on floor. the customer service rep, wohhhhhha, what the heck, why you have so many? the security guy comes, asks the guy why he got so many target cards. Tells the MSer you either get out of this store or i call the cop for  this possible theft and scam!

Just joking but that will happen when you are not careful about multiple loads! friendly advice!
