Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

Do amex points post a few days after the statement closes, or does it post after the next statement? i.e. the statement after you pay.

ETA: It says I have 6000 pending, but with the 50% bonus - which I earned this month- it should be 9k.

I'm new to amex - maybe I just didn't get used to their system? Chase and Barclays are very different, and more orderly it seems...

How do you get the 50% bonus ?

You can billpay any bill, regardless on whose name they are.

The bank acct you link to Redbird (or Bluebird/Serve) HAS to match the name of the Redbird acct, don't even try otherwise, often times Redbird (or PayPal for that matter) will ask proof of that and you don't want to be banned from Amex prepaid acct for a while for linking a bank acct or a debit card that is not on the name of the Redbird acct holder.
Awesome!  Thanks. And, I assume that one does not have to link a bank acct to RB acct to be able to load, pay bills, etc as prepaids were really made for people who can't open bank accounts.  Correct me if I'm wrong.  Thanks.

This is a multi-question with quotes from wiki:

"You can make up the SS#, DOB, and phone number, but you can only activate 1 Redcard per SS# per day). At this point, you can load up to $500 on the card."
*** When making up SS#, DOB, and p#, does this apply only for when you purchase the temp card, or can this also apply to the permanent one when registering?  How many RB can one SS# have as it says "1 RB per SS# per day?"  Just making sure I'm reading this right.  Also, I purchased (from a fellow DDFer) 2 temp cards w/ $1 loaded on each.  Does this mean that I could load each one online/in-store up to $499 before registering for a permanent card?  Keep in mind that I only received pictures of the temp cards and not the physical version.  May be hard for me to get them loaded by having them key in the temp card info. haha

"2) After you register the card at home- You can load another $1000, which does count towards your monthly $5000 limit."
***Does this statement mean that you could load online the $1000?

Thanks all!  Late in the game.   :P

I can't tell if you're asking serious questions or not, but I'll answer them anyway.
Making up info is only for purchasing in store, not registering online. That is 1 per SSN.
If the temp card was already activated in store, you can load another 1k onto it.
If you don't have the physical card, you can't load it.
You cannot load redcard online from a CC.

You'll need to give your real SSN
How many RB can one SS# have as it says "1 RB per SS# per day?"  Just making sure I'm reading this right.
Only 1 Redcard is allowed to be linked to each SSN. 1 redcard per SSN
Also, I purchased (from a fellow DDFer) 2 temp cards w/ $1 loaded on each.  Does this mean that I could load each one onlinein-store up to $499 before registering for a permanent card?
No. IIRC, you can't load at all until the Recard is registered (with the first activation load as the exception)
Keep in mind that I only received pictures of the temp cards and not the physical version.  May be hard for me to get them loaded by having them key in the temp card info. haha
In theory, after registering the card, you can load it in store but I never had experience with keying in a Redcard number
"2) After you register the card at home- You can load another $1000, which does count towards your monthly $5000 limit."
***Does this statement mean that you could load online the $1000?
No. After you register your Redcard online, you're allowed to load $1k in store onto the temp card before receiving your permanent Redcard in the mail.
You can modify your original post. The modify button is right next to the quote button.

I had to remind myself why i dont use local Targets. Gateway had a line a mile long on trip 1 yesterday and would only allow 1 swipe up to 1k and only with a manager who was nowhere to be found on trip 2. So epic fail. Anyone have experience in Linden NJ? Need to unload GCs

Aint nothing real going on here anyway. I have a great sense of humor, not really sure what a "sence of humor" is though. Whatever that guy was attempting to joke about, went right over my head.
