They left me a message to call them but I wanted to make sure that there wasn't any specific restrictions on Platinum
I have been flagged three times by Amex for using Platinum at CVS and Amex Gift cards in the last week alone. The first time a week ago when I tried making a purchase at CVS with my Amex Platinum. Then I decided to focus only on Amex GC and use my Amex Platinum to meet minimum spend requirement. Bought one GC four days ago for $2,000 and then another one for $4,000. The second one triggered a review yesterday morning after I bought coffee at 7/11 using Platinum. I called them and cleared everything within two minutes. For no reason, I got flagged again today when trying to fill gas -- took me more than 30 minutes of wait.
Most likely spoke to a very senior person at the fraud department and was on phone with her for another 15 minutes going through my last 15+ years of history with Amex. Total nuts. My history with Chase has been much more recent -- my first Chase CC was about eight months ago and I have had six cards since then and done much more (at least 5x) manufactured spending to meet minimum spend requirement with them than Amex and yet no fraud alert or reviews.
So, my thinking is that for whatever reason they are on high alert when it comes to Platinum -- partly because it's a charge card with no spending limit.
