Topic Wiki

Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

This may sound ridiculous, but if it works like this, can I fill up my RC with another RC for the first dollar, then do rest of the load with a CC and get 5% off the whole transaction?
It is without a doubt ridiculous! Loads do not count as purchases for 5% off, even if you did entire load with another redcard. Fees will count. So if you are buying card for $5 or loading AFT you will get 5% off fee.

It was the payment device that was blocked by Target, not the RC. It was kinda 3 strikes then youre out. Use a different payment method.
Is the card blocked that day only, or won't work at said target ever again ?

Interesting, never heard this before. Is this a general target thing or only certain stores?

How recently? I did it with redcard and target GC and I got 5% only on amount charged to redcard.
In April. I'll try it again, and let you know if it has changed.

Do you have an answer to my question, re less than $1?
I don't have a answer don't know why if it's less then $1 it should make a difference. Imho it's quite  a stupid question.

You don't sound very humble, and someone who mixes up "quite" and "quiet" should not be calling people stupid.
Re your main point, these things don't always "make sense"; certain things work, and certain things don't work, regardless of what you or I may think is sensible.

There's never a dull moment on this thread. Actually, come to think of it, there were some dull moments ("I just loaded XYZ in ABC) but not too many of them.

Not taking sides but it's best if everyone would just act nice and either answer a question nicely or don't answer at all (humor precluded).
