Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

Does anyone have a picture of the card so I can see how it looks? Now that only specific types are working, I want to make sure that I am buying the correct one. Thanks!!

they look like this in the stores, hanging vertically near the check out:

I have a RC. I was talking about the gift cards with pins...
Visa Gift Cards and Mastercard Gift Cards. They look like any other ones?!?!? What are you asking? The last 4 on the Visa and you have to call for MC to get PIN.

Most Target employers wont allow this to load your RedCard (ONLY ONCE I got lucky here in NY) they say it "needs to have your name" or "has to be attached to a bank". Is there a different card serve/bluebird that is easier to unload with in NY?

onestly, I didn’t think much of it at first since it is common for memos to be described as corporate wide when they are store specific, but then Dan of Dan’s Deals claims to have confirmed the memo himself.

Well, confirmed in PIT. They have a little print-out slip of paper taped to the register at the CS desk with a script, "We're sorry.... Target will no longer... to align with other..." (What the heck is that "to align" shtick anyway?)

Anyway, I asked to try a VGC as a debit and they insisted CASH ONLY but since this is OOT and the jerkos haven't ruined it here, I was able to ask nicely and get them to try the VGS. Yes, it works. So basically RC is now no worse than BB was.

AND is the big word as u are not likely to make 20k and 200 transactions.

Just to be clear, this is only if you're depositing all that cash from Redbird to a bank account, right? This 1099 will never be triggered if you just billpay a cc, correct?
