Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

But the weird thing is, the funds did not load onto the red card and are no longer on the Visa cards. It does not say delayed redemption. And when I called up target, they had no record of possible loads.

You can call the GC customer service to see what records they have.
If the receipt from the the place you bought the GC's from say that they are activated, I would just give it a day or two.

I tried loading a one vanilla and a $500 Visa. They both came up unable to complete process. Contact card issuer. What does that mean? I have loaded these types of cards on target prepaid this morning.
And no, I have not reached the limit. This is my first time loading this month. I tried it on 3 different cards. Nothing doing.
Just tried loading  when the swiped my redcard the computer said system cannot process. Anyone know what that's about?

I did two separate $500 transactions this morn with 'debit card' the first one went through..
The second one I got the mess. ' we cant complete this request'.

I got a receipt that showed the $500 was taken off my card, which is was.. I called up, they said they are having system wide outage problems and it should be 'resolved within 24 hours'
Good luck to me.
FYI the general ticket number for this issue is 815545

shoot. This is my second load in about 3 months. I wanted it to go smooth so I can get the hang of it. I guess not this time. I opened a dispute with target. Should I close that one and open a dispute with visa? It just says in the record that it was unloaded. It does not say that the other source was loaded.

REDCard provides a routing number and account number for making direct deposits, as if it were a bank account. It explicitly says those numbers cannot be used for outgoing transactions, such as paying bills; only incoming deposits. Well, sometimes, when you want to link your bank account to something (for example, Google wallet), they make two small deposits and make you verify the amounts... but then they draw their few cents right back out. For example, they'll deposit 10 cents and 19 cents, and then withdraw 29 cents. So what happens when they try to take back their precious 29 cents from REDCard? Will REDCard block the withdrawal, causing Google Wallet (or whoever) to get pissed at me? Will REDCard themselves get pissed at me, and close my account for "improper transaction" or something? Will all go well? Will the earth crash into the sun? :P

Why would the transaction go through but a paper come out that you can't use GC's? If they can detect GC's and don't want us using them, they should be able to block the transaction as well.

Do you have to be told that you're in the wrong thread or will you commit Hari Kari and throw yourself on the sword?  >:(

I'm not so sure it's the wrong thread anymore given what happened. It's dead already the question is how dead.

I've done it with AP and Serve, and no one has come chasing after me yet. Now if we could find a way to scale it...
