Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

Does it have a pin and can be used as a debit? IINM it can't be loaded with a cc anyway, so what's the use?

i am SO not about to read over 700 pages and i would never see if this was posted using search. just a cautionary tale: if you had BB and you shut it down and you're registering for an RC you MUST USE THE SAME PHONE NUMBER AND THE SAME EMAIL ADDRESS you used when you registered for BB.

first, i couldn't get to a good Target,
then i just took a card w/o first activating
then i had to find someone in Baltimore to do me a favor
then i forgot about canceling BB
then i waited 24 hours but it still didn't work (as per BB)
i waited 48 hours and it STILL didn't work (again, as per BB)
i called up and was on the phone with them for 1/2 hour until we figured out that i was using my new email address...

i missed out on so much!
i also didn't know in the beginning that i could just buy an activated RC until i had one of my own  :-\ SMH

but he said "hopes"

anyway pretty significant in my mind that mastercard issuer would say you cannot load gift cards to a another card.  I never knew that.

Mastercard didn't say that. He had issues with one card.

so you called us bank and said you were trying to load it onto a prepaid card?
Why not call Target and tell them your doing it as well?  Whats the first rule of DDF??? Next time say your making a purchase, cuz that's how it rings up on the card issuers end.

When red card came out FM said specifically to use a different email address. Perhaps that has changed now?

+1 I wasn't gonna start down that road, when I told you to call it was to ask why your pin wasn't working not to tell them you were trying to withdraw the cash.

They said is referring to the number I called on back of the card(issuer of mastercard gift card)
